Driftfire is in closed testing on Google Play, so installing it takes three quick steps. iOS is a one-tap TestFlight install; Android needs this short setup because of how Google Play gates closed betas.
Important: use the same Google account for all three steps. The account you join the group with must be the same one you're signed in to Chrome with when you accept, and the same one your Play Store uses to install. If they don't match, the invite won't unlock the download — and nothing on screen will tell you why. Pick the account you actually play on, and use it throughout.
Membership in this Google Group is what makes your account eligible for the beta. Open it signed in with the Google account you'll play on, then click Join group.
This is a plain Google Group — joining just adds your address to the tester list. Give it a minute or two to take effect before Step 2.
Joining the group makes you eligible; this is where your account actually opts in to the test. Yes, it's a separate step — group membership alone won't reveal the app. Open the link below in Chrome, signed in with that same account, and tap Become a tester (or accept the invite).
If it says you're not a tester, the account here doesn't match the one from Step 1 — switch accounts and try again.
Once you've accepted, open Driftfire on the Play Store and install it — from the Download it on Google Play link on the opt-in page, or straight from the listing:
Make sure the Play Store is signed in to that same account. If the listing shows the public page rather than an install button, wait a few minutes after accepting and refresh — it can take a moment to propagate.
After that it's a normal app: updates arrive through the Play Store like anything else.
