DRIFTFIRE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 9, 2026

Driftfire is an offline game. It does not require an account and collects no personal data for normal play. The one exception is the optional online multiplayer mode (“2P Uplink”), which needs a network connection and uses your device's IP address to connect you to another player. This policy explains both, in plain terms.

What we collect

For single-player and local play: nothing — no name, email, location, device identifiers, contacts, photos, or usage data.

If, and only if, you start an online multiplayer match (2P Uplink), your device's IP address is used to establish the connection between the two players (see “Online multiplayer” below). Aside from that — and anything you choose to send us when you contact us or file a report (see “When you contact us or send a report” below) — we do not collect any other personal data, and we do not use your IP address for advertising or tracking.

No tracking, no third parties

Driftfire contains:

Offline by default

Single-player and local two-player games run entirely on your device and send nothing over the network. When you open the online-multiplayer menu, the app fetches a small configuration file (the address of our matchmaking server and whether online play is currently enabled) from a public endpoint; that request contains no personal data about you.

Online multiplayer (2P Uplink)

Online multiplayer is optional and only active when you choose it. To connect you to another player, the app contacts our matchmaking/relay server (“noray”), which processes both players' IP addresses so the two devices can reach each other (directly, or relayed through the server when a direct connection isn't possible). Gameplay data exchanged during an online match travels between the two players (relayed through the server when needed).

Our server's operational logs, which help us keep the service running and diagnose outages, can include IP addresses. These logs are retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted. We do not sell or share this data, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to track you across apps or websites.

When you contact us or send a report

Emailing us, or using Report a problem / Send feedback inside the game, is entirely your choice. When you do, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and — if you send an in-game report — a short diagnostics file to help us fix the problem.

That diagnostics file is technical information: the app version and build, your device model, operating system and version, your language/locale, a small snapshot of your game settings, and the most recent in-game log lines. A report about the computer opponent also includes the game AI's decision trace. A report about an online-connection problem includes a network summary; any IP address in it is masked before it is saved — we keep only a coarse prefix (roughly the first half of the address), never your full address. You can add a note describing what happened, and whatever you type there is included, so please don't put anything in it you'd rather not share.

Nothing is sent automatically. The app prepares the email or report and opens your own mail or share app; it is sent only when you press send. We use what you send only to diagnose and fix problems and to reply to you. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell or share it, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or track you across apps. We keep your message and any report only as long as we need to handle your request — no longer than 90 days — and then delete it.

Your saved data stays on your device

Game progress and settings are saved locally on your device (in the app's private storage). We have no access to these files, and they are never uploaded. Deleting the app removes them.

Children's privacy

Driftfire contains no advertising, no analytics, and no accounts. For single-player and local play it collects no data at all. Online multiplayer uses IP addresses only to connect players and for short-term operational logging as described above — never to knowingly gather personal information from children, and never for advertising or tracking. This is consistent with COPPA and similar children's-privacy laws.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
